Part 1

At the surface, part one of the project, Shadows of Narcissus, is a 32-page publication which explores key mechanisms employed by narcissists - grandiosity, manipulation, charm, camouflage, and projection. Each mechanism is presented through a two-page spread: the first explaining the mechanism, and the second featuring a quote exemplifying that mechanism.

Each quote spread includes a camouflaged fold-out tab with a QR code. When scanned, this leads to an augmented reality (AR) experience powered by Adobe Aero. By hovering over the quote in AR, users reveal the narcissist’s “inner thoughts,” exposing the true meaning behind their words.
